Chicago based photographer Steven Ewert only intended on photographing the grandmother of his studio manager, Jamie Ketler, who lives in Prairie du Sac. Quickly this project blossomed into a remarkable exhibition of inspiringly natural portraits of the Sauk Prairie community. Ewert’s images illuminate his statement that, “There simply must be something very special about this area that attracts special people who want to live there.”

Wisconsin Regional Art Program

For seventy years the Wisconsin Regional Art Program (WRAP), established by the UW-Madison, has encouraged the artistic development of Wisconsin residents. Among more than 23 WRAP exhibits around the state, the Prairie du Sac WRAP exhibit features work from over thirty local artists in a range medias. The exhibit concludes with a workshop and lecture or demonstration along with the awarding of meritorious works that proceed to the WRAP Exhibit held in Madison each September.

HH FastForward

HH FastForward pairs H.H. Bennett’s iconic images of Sauk and Columbia county landscapes with rephotographs of the same locations by contemporary photographer Bill Pielsticker. This exhibition reveals the changes in these sites creating a dialogue that questions the circumstances for these alterations and the impacts on the associated communities.
