Learn about the physical and mental health benefits of breathing slowly and deeply, as well as sitting and movement meditation methods, and how to establish a simple daily practice to experience more calm in your life. This class provides tools to ease tension in the body and mind and is a great way to bring the year to a close and prepare for the new year ahead. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing.
Instructor bio:
Kelly Parks Snider is a visual artist with a yoga and meditation practice spanning over thirty years. Currently, she attends Naropa University, where she is completing her MDiv. This course offers an introduction to meditation through instruction and class discussion on mindfulness, sitting meditation, and the cultivation of maitri (loving -kindness).
