Meet Joel Ludowitz
SRO Sauk Prairie Police Department
Joel Ludowitz is the current School Resource Officer for the Sauk Prairie School District. He is currently in his 4th year as SRO. Joel graduated from Belmont High School in 2004 and continued his education by attending Western Technical College in Lacrosse where he received his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. Later, Joel would attend Upper Iowa University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Police Science. In 2008, Joel began his career in law enforcement with the Dodgeville Police Department. In 2011, Joel joined the Sauk Prairie Police Department and has been involved in many community activities.
As the school resource officer Joel works closely with school administration to assist with problem solving and crime prevention. He works with students, parents and teachers by keeping them informed and up to date on youth-related issues or problems within the community. Joel also provides active shooter training for the school district as well as businesses and civilians in the Sauk Prairie community.
When not at work Joel enjoys spending time with his wife Trina and his two young children Madyn and Briggs. He also enjoys many outdoor activities such as camping, motorcycle riding and anything sports related. He even coached youth football for four years. Joel has had no prior experience in dancing but looks forward to the competition.
