Music through the Decades from the 1920s to present!
at River Arts on Water Gallery (590 Water St, downtown Prairie du Sac)
Rory Bolton is a 2006 graduate from the amazing experience we like to call Sauk Prairie Music! Since then, he has performed professionally all over the world. With experiences from the Ringling Bros. Circus to cruise ship entertaining, Rory’s background of music and styles are both extensive.
Bolton’s musical versatility is unparallel to that of any other as he switches effortlessly from Franz Liszt to Frank Sinatra in his repertoire. He is equally comfortable performing as a soloist or collaborating with other artists.
Bolton made his stage debut at the young age of 14 where he starred as the show pianist for the Fabulous 50’s Rock ‘n Roll Show in Wisconsin Dells, under the original direction of the Triumphant Trio: Karen Luher, Susan Halloway, and Tom Terrien. His wild stage antics combined with his musicianship make him a performer you don’t want to miss!
He has taken his love of music and the piano all over the world performing with some of the most talented musicians and entertainers on the high seas aboard Celebrity and Azamara Club Cruises. Bolton has collaborated with internationally acclaimed artists Lindsay Hamilton, Gary Arbuthnot, Jack Walker, Davie Howes, Mark Donoghue, Judy Kolba, Pete Matthews, Neil Lockwood, Chris Riggins, Craig Dahn, Katrina Rose, Mac Frampton, Doug Cameron, Lelani, Nick Weir, and more! In addition, he has performed master classes with artists Sara Davis Buechner, Dmitri Levkovich, Do Bang Lang, and Janice Razaq.
With his roots in classical music, Bolton holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in piano performance where he studied under Michael Keller, Molly Roseman, and Raffi Besalyan. A recent graduate of Illinois State University with a double master’s degree in both music therapy and piano performance and having studied under the influences of Joshua Russell and Geoffrey Duce, Rory is excited to return to his home state where he is continuing a six month internship with Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care in Milwaukee for music therapy. You may even catch a glimpse of him performing at Lucille’s Rockin’ Pianos downtown on occasional weekends if you’re lucky!
This house concert will be a journey through the decades featuring music from the turn of the century up through some of the current hits on the radio, touching on a wide range of genres and styles that Rory has come to enjoy and appreciate and who have made him into the eclectic player he is today. Rory is very grateful for all of the love and support he has received from this wonderful community as he continues his musical growth.
