Therese Miskulin-Brethorst Artist Statement:
I taught MS/HS art in the Sauk Prairie School District for 23 years and am now retired. During that time I created a class curriculum called Object Design in which students could explore different media.
In doing this, I included copper which I found to be an inexpensive and versatile medium. Copper can be manipulated in many ways. It can be formed, enameled, etched and patinated. I specialize in cold connections to which I may add fused glass, found items or enameled decals. Each piece is individually made by hand. Many pieces use recycled copper from the downspouts of my mother’s house built in 1932, the year of her birth.
I am constantly experimenting, most recently making my own silicone molds from found objects and using copper clay to produce new artistic jewelry pieces.

Jane Nass Artist Statement:
The first 40 years of my professional visual arts career focused on print media, working through design studios and corporate design firms. I use that design background today, but my artwork has a new concentration – expressing my gratitude for the blessed life I lead. My faith leads me to reflect and express what I experience day to day. Living on 15 wooded acres, nature and wildlife surround me. The beauty I see inspires me. The assemblages I create express the range of emotions I feel every day. My hope is to draw others in and encourage them to slow down, also reflect, and ultimately enjoy the glory all around us.
