Act II
Paintings by Leola Culver
Lea paints with acrylics, experimenting with texture and technique. She loves painting flowers, and is always envisioning a picture of clouds or sunrises and sunsets. She also finds tremendous purpose in painting by choosing to donate sales of her artwork to nonprofits that are meaningful to her. Proceeds from Act II will support River Arts Inc. to help fulfill their mission to inspire, enrich, and educate the community through the arts.
Artist Statement:
I am a big dreamer. One of my lifelong dreams has been to paint on canvas. I’m not sure why I waited so long to get started, but now that I have, I have found tremendous purpose in it. I choose to donate proceeds to nonprofits that are meaningful to me and share their stories in the hopes that they gain more support and recognition for their great work.
I paint with acrylics, experimenting with texture and technique. I love painting flowers, and I am always envisioning a picture of clouds or sunrises and sunsets. One of my favorite things to do is paint with my grandchildren. I love to help them see things in a different way and to express themselves with a brush, a canvas, and color.
Family and friends continue to encourage me to paint and I have enjoyed taking several classes at River Arts on Water to learn new techniques and styles from other local artists.
Purchasing Artwork:
During Lea’s inaugural exhibit, Genesis, she donated sales to Big Dreamers United, a nonprofit designed to help other nonprofits tell their story through video, photos, graphic design, audio, and more.
Proceeds during her second exhibit, Act II, will be donated directly to the host organization, River Arts Inc, a nonprofit with a mission to inspire, enrich, and educate the community through the arts. Lea has been a big supporter of River Arts Inc. since its inception in 1997 and her most recent donation made the black box addition to the River Arts Center possible.
