Colored Pencil – Stretching Beyond Traditional with Rhonda Nass
Saturday-Sunday, May 18-19, 2019 | 9am-4pm both days | 590 Water St, Prairie du Sac, WI 53578
Early Bird Registration: $175 before May 4, $195 after May 4
Whether novice or veteran in colored pencil, discover and become proficient with a new layering technique that allows you to capture drama and detail beyond what you thought possible with colored pencil. We’ll take a broad look at contemporary colored pencil artists, try various stroke applications, begin a unique color match strip which many keep for life-long reference, have plenty of one-on-one time, and design and begin a final original artwork, leaving the workshop confident in the ability to complete it with excellence. Registration includes a $5 supplies fee, which covers the following: Stroke application exercise, vellum, one sheet of ground paper.
Rhonda Nass can thank her high school art teacher (who told the stubborn German teenager she could never be an artist) for launching her into her art career. She and her husband, Rick, have owned an illustration studio for 50 years and she continues to create artwork for editorial and publication use as well as corporate, private, museum and gallery collections. Rhonda teaches colored pencil, graphite and acrylic workshops nationwide and has recently written/illustrated/published “SCRATCHINGS OF A MADWOMAN,” a book about faith and creatively communicating with colored pencil. You can view her work at www.rnass.com.
There is a lunch break during both days of this class, so students should either bring a sack lunch or be prepared to purchase food. There are several restaurant options within walking distance of the studio.
A required supply list is available upon request or after registering for the class. For questions, please email Kristina at email@example.com.
